Meet Stacey Mae

I began shooting weddings in 2014 when I reluctantly and nervously agreed to shoot a good friend’s wedding. I loved every second and have been hooked ever since!

I love everything about weddings: the excitement, the laughs, the emotions, the questionable dance moves and of course, the love. For me, there’s just something about capturing a wedding day, creating a visual memory and knowing the photographs & films will be shown to generations to come.

I honestly believe I have one of the best jobs in the world. I get to meet the loveliest people, spend time capturing one of the happiest days of their lives and celebrate with their family and friends. I get to travel; my job takes me to some of the most beautiful locations in the UK and Europe and my dream is to shoot weddings all over the world!

My Approach

I believe that wedding photography should be honest, fun and natural.

This is why I shoot with a candid, laid-back style- no awkward poses or hour-long formals. I go with the flow; documenting every detail of your day.

I’m a documentary style photographer which means I will capture your day as it happens so you are left with a collection of authentic, natural images that transport you right back to the moment.

Who I work with

I photograph weddings for couples who care more about how it felt.

My work is for couples who want their day documented honestly, without pressure to perform or fit a mould.

I believe wedding days should feel safe, relaxed and celebrate who you are as a couple. I love to work with couples who value connection, kindness and authenticity, who want to enjoy their day without feeling like they need to perform for the camera.

Whether your wedding is big or small, traditional or unconventional, you’ll be met with openness, respect and genuine care.

I’m originally from the North East and grew up in Hartlepool by the sea. I now live in a small village near Sherwood Forest with my husband Nic, after a fairly spontaneous move that turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. I love getting out for long walks in the forest and pottering in my veg garden!

I’ve photographed over 100 weddings and still find something new to love about every single one. My favourite part of the day is often the portraits. Sneaking you off for a quiet moment together, a chance to breathe and take stock of the day so far, while I capture you exactly as you are.

On a wedding day, I’m very much hands-on. You’ll often find me drying bouquets, pinning buttonholes, fastening dress buttons, or quickly stepping in with my emergency kit! I'm always happy to help keep things moving smoothly so you can stay present and enjoy the moment.

Capturing weddings is a real privilege, and choosing the right person to document your day is an important decision. I’m always available to meet for a chat before you book, whether that’s in person or over a call, to make sure we’re the right fit and that you feel completely comfortable having me alongside you on your day.
